Seven Years and Two New Moons

Dear ones—

As I've shared before, it's important that we all make wise and informed choices where we spend our energy and time. I encourage you, along with myself, to make conscious invitations to those things that nourish your spirit, feed your soul, invest in your well-being, and bring life. Always life. xo

One month before the UN International Day of Peace (September 21), the Jewish Feast of Trumpets / Rosh Hashana (September 20-22, 2017) and 33 days before the Revelation 12 celestial alignment (Sept. 23, 2017) we will have a powerful solar eclipse crossing the United States.

This occurs on August 21, 2017. That day the sun will rise in darkness, already eclipsed, and throughout the day parts of the country will experience brief moments of total darkness.

During a solar eclipse, the moon passes between the sun and the earth. This means that for a short time, the round shape of the whole moon will directly cover the sun and become edged with a thin ring of sunlight.

During the August 21 solar eclipse, the illumination percentage is 0%. It is a New Moon. (All solar eclipses occur on a New Moon.)

This means the sun will be dark...and the moon will be dark.

This is significant because of a sobering prophecy in Isaiah:

Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand!
It will come as destruction from the Almighty.
Therefore all hands will be limp,
Every man’s heart will melt,
And they will be afraid.
Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them;
They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth;
[the woman in childbirth sign occurs 9/23/17]
They will be amazed at one another;
Their faces will be like flames.

Behold, the day of the Lord comes, [implies an approaching / at-hand event]
Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger,
To lay the land desolate;
And He will destroy its sinners from it.

For the stars of heaven and their constellations
Will not give their light;
The sun will be darkened in its going forth, [like the 8/21/17 solar eclipse]
And the moon will not cause its light to shine. [New Moon with 0% illumination.]

“I will punish the world for its evil,
And the wicked for their iniquity;
I will halt the arrogance of the proud,
And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible."—Isaiah 13:6-11

There are seven years between the rapture and the 2nd coming.

The day of the Lord is the 7-year time of Jacob's Trouble, or Daniel's 70th week. It is for Israel, not the Church, although there might be a short transitional period between the close of this age and the beginning of the next. While I am not a “date-setter” for the catching-away of the church, it is uncanny how events are lining up this summer and fall with stunning precision for what seem to be the last days.

From my understanding of Scripture and end-time prophecy, the 7-year tribulation begins with (or is close to) the catching-away of the body of Christ—where we meet our Lord in the air—and ends at or after the 2nd Coming of Christ—when he returns to earth and places his feet on the Mount of Olives.

When his disciples asked about his Second Coming, Jesus said,

Mark 13:24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.”

Before the 2nd Coming of the Messiah, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.

Seven years after the first one, another solar eclipse will cross the United States. This happens on April 8, 2024. Once again, the moon is a New Moon with 0% illumination.

I don't know why the United States.

The US as a nation is not mentioned clearly in scripture, if at all. So if these are in fact prophecy-fulfilling celestial signs, I honestly don't know why they are being given to us except that as a large Gentile nation with an evangelical history, this could indicate a message to the Church.

I also don't know if these eclipses fulfill the particular passages I referenced above. However, as all of the pieces are falling into place, I wholeheartedly believe they very well could. Scripture tells us repeatedly that one day the end will come, and all things will be made new. It's hard to grasp the idea that this just might be it. And maybe it's not. But one day, for someone, for some generation, it will be. One day the end times will come. So even if it's not for ourselves, perhaps for a generation to come—we can't ignore this forever.

PS...I don't know why this urgency has come upon me so strongly, and I don't know how long this season will be. But until things change I will continue to write as I am inspired. I don't know how to write these things, either; my voice isn't used to this and it feels awkward sometimes but I just keep going. I can't wait until it is perfect—if I did, as a recover-ING perfectionist I'd never write a word. :)

Regardless of the times, signs, prophecies and world events, we still live in the Age of Grace.

This means that we do not need elaborate rituals or legalistic traditions in order to atone for our sins or to escape all that is coming upon the earth. Our salvation is by grace through the faith of Jesus, the son of God, who died for our sins, was buried and conquered death by coming back to life. He did this because of his great love for us! It is simple and lovely and life-giving. Throughout all of the ages, there has never been an easier way to be made holy and righteous before God. We simply must trust and believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he has died for our sins so that we may have eternal life. He has done the work for us. And when we believe, he gives us the Holy Spirit who seals us for the day of redemption and guides & teaches us concerning truth. May you be abundantly blessed beyond all you could ever imagine through our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ!
